9.20.010 Designated.

It is unlawful for any child under the age of sixteen (16) years, unless accompanied by a parent, guardian or other person having the legal custody of such child, to be on any of the streets, alleys, public parks or sidewalks of the town between the hours ten p.m. and six a.m. Sunday through Thursday and between the hours of eleven p.m. and six a.m. Friday and Saturday, unless such child is therein necessarily by reason of its employment, or by virtue of a special written permit dated on the day such child is so found and signed by the parent, guardian or other person having the legal custody of such child found on said streets, alleys, public parks or sidewalks between said hours. 9.20.020 Encouraging or causing violation—Misdemeanor.

All parents, guardians, and other persons within the town having or who may hereafter have immediate custody of any child under the age of sixteen (16) years who shall by any act or omission encourage, cause or contribute to the violation of the terms of this chapter by any such child shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished therefor by a fine of not more than one hundred dollars ($100.00) or imprisonment in the town jail, or other place of imprisonment, for thirty (30) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. 9.20.030 Arrest upon violation.

Any police officer of the town shall arrest without a warrant any child who is found violating the provisions of this chapter and shall forthwith deliver such child so arrested either to the custody of a person in parental relation to the child, or, in case of habitual or incorrigible children under said age, shall bring him or her before the municipal judge. The police shall, if he be convinced that the child so arrested is guilty of wilful and continued violation of this chapter, bind the child over to the juvenile department of the superior court of Thurston County to be dealt with according to law.
