8.04.010 Purpose.

The city of Richland desires to be included in the Benton-Franklin County health district, pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 70.46 RCW. It is the city’s intent that all powers vested in it or its officers and all duties imposed upon it or its officers by general law for the protection of the life and health of the people within its jurisdiction shall be exercised and performed by the Benton-Franklin County health district and its district health officer. 8.04.020 Contract – City representative.

The city manager, in the name of the city, shall enter into an appropriate contract with the Benton-Franklin County health district to effectuate the purposes set forth in this chapter. The city manager, or his duly authorized representative, shall have the sole authority to act for the city under said contract. [Ord. 57 § 1.02].

8.04.030 City’s contribution.

The contract shall provide for the payment by the city to the health district of the sum of $15,262 during 1959 as the city’s contribution to the expenses of the health district during 1959, and shall provide for the determination of the amount of the city’s contribution in subsequent years prior to September 1st of the year preceding the year in which the contribution is to be made. In addition, the city shall provide office space, office furniture and fixtures in the Richland City Hall for the use of the health district. [Ord. 57 § 1.03].

8.04.040 Cooperation of city’s officers and employees.

The officers and employees of the city are directed to assist the health district and its district health officer in the enforcement of general law, the regulations of the health district and city ordinances for the protection of the life and health of the people within the city. [Ord. 57 § 1.04].
