BARBED WIRE FENCES, ELECTRIC FENCES AND ELECTRIC BARRIERS

3.48.010 Prohibited – Exceptions.

It shall be unlawful to have or hereafter erect, construct, place or allow to be placed, or used on or about or upon any building or property, any fence, barrier, partition or obstruction, electrically charged or connected with any electrical source in such a manner as to transmit an electric charge to persons, animals or things which might come in contact therewith, or any barbed wire fence or barrier within the city of Ritzville; provided, however, that barbed wire fences will be allowed in areas zoned agricultural; provided, further that barbed wire enclosures may be allowed where the barbed wire enclosure is situated a minimum of six feet above ground surface and/or required by state statute or city ordinances. (Ord. 839 § 1, 1990).

3.48.020 Violation – Penalty.

Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be deemed to have committed a civil infraction punishable in accordance with RCC 1.02.010, General penalty. (Ord. 1092 § 96, 2005; Ord. 839 § 2, 1990).
