SIDEWALKS – MUST BE KEPT IN REPAIR

7.28.010 Allowing sidewalk to be out of repair prohibited.
It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation owning or occupying any property within the city of Ritzville abutting upon any street upon which there is or may be hereafter constructed a sidewalk to permit or allow any sidewalk or sidewalks along that portion of the street or streets upon which said property abuts to be or remain out of repair. (Ord. 172 § 1, 1912).
7.28.020 Purpose.
The purpose of this chapter is to ensure safety to all pedestrians in the use of sidewalks within the corporate limits of the city of Ritzville. (Ord. 172 § 2, 1912).
7.28.030 When sidewalk is out of repair.
Any sidewalk is hereby declared to be out of repair when any board or boards shall become unlevel, loose, broken or removed therein; and in case of cement sidewalks, when said cement sidewalk shall become broken, or have holes or depressions therein or become rough and not level. (Ord. 172 § 2, 1912).
7.28.040 Violations – Penalties.
Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the terms of this chapter shall be punishable in accordance with RCC 1.02.010, General penalty. (Ord. 1092 § 129, 2005; Ord. 172 § 3, 1912.).
