4.32.010 Purpose.

The purpose of this chapter is to establish by ordinance, as required by RCW 35.21.100, procedures for acceptance of money or property donated, devised, or bequeathed to the city of Rock Island. (Ord. 19-192 § 1).

4.32.020 Unrestricted donations.

The clerk/treasurer may accept unrestricted donations in amounts or values up to and including $3,000 and credit such amounts to the general fund without specific approval of the city council. Unrestricted donations valued in excess of $3,000 shall be accepted only if approved by action of the city council. (Ord. 19-192 § 1).

4.32.030 Restricted donations.

The clerk/treasurer may accept restricted donations in amounts or values up to and including $3,000 and credit these monetary amounts to the appropriate city fund without specific approval of the city council. Restricted donations valued in excess of $3,000 shall be accepted only if approved by action of the city council. (Ord. 19-192 § 1).

4.32.040 Restricted donations – Establishing funds.

If an appropriate fund does not exist for the purpose for which a restricted donation has been designated, the city council, by ordinance, may establish one. The ordinance shall specify the uses for which the fund assets may be used. (Ord. 19-192 § 1).

4.32.050 Real property.

The city may accept ownership of, or an interest in, real property, including a lease or other instrument transferring anything less than a fee simple interest, only if approved by action of the city council. (Ord. 19-192 § 1).
