2.08.010    Hours.

2.08.010 Hours.

A. The several governmental offices of San Juan County located in Friday Harbor shall be open for the transaction of public business at regular hours to be set by the department head or elected official. Except as provided in subsection (B) of this section, all offices shall remain open at least between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

B. All of the County offices shall be closed on Saturday, Sunday and on state legal holidays as defined in RCW 1.16.050. Weekend and holiday closures do not apply to the sheriff’s office. Weekend closures do not apply to field offices in the County seat that are scheduled to be open for regular service on Saturday and/or Sunday.

C. Upon a finding by the County administrator that it is in the best interests of San Juan County, the administrator shall have the authority to reduce the hours the administrative offices are open to the public for up to three months in any calendar year. Additional changes to the hours of the administrative offices are to be decided by the County council. (Ord. 22-2009 § 1; Res. 28-1955)
