12.12.010 Definitions.

As used in this chapter:

“Camping” means to remain overnight, to erect a tent or other shelter, or to use sleeping equipment, a vehicle, boat or a trailer camper for the purpose of or in such a way as will permit remaining overnight, or the establishing, setting up and use of a site or location for cooking and preparation of meals and other related activities on or along the public roads, rights-of-way, public access areas, public parkways and other property of the County. 12.12.020 Camping at other than designated areas.

It is unlawful for any person or persons to camp on or along or adjacent to any County road, right-of-way, public access areas, public parkways and County property other than at those designated as camp or rest areas. (Ord. 34-2009 § 3; Res. 78-1970. Formerly 9.12.020)

12.12.030 Violation – Penalty.

Any person who violates SJCC 12.12.020 is guilty of a misdemeanor and is punishable by a fine of not more than $100.00, or by imprisonment in the County jail not to exceed 10 days, or both. (Ord. 14-2000 § 7(CC); Res. 78-1970. Formerly 9.12.030)
