CONTRABAND IN THE SKAGIT COUNTY JAIL

9.46.030    Penalty.

9.46.010 Contraband defined.

“Contraband” means any of the following items:

(1) A controlled substance for which the person does not have a valid prescription;

(2) A firearm, whether loaded or not;

(3) A knife; or

(4) A weapon which is apparently capable of producing bodily harm, including but not limited to those listed in RCW 9.41.250(1) and (2) and RCW 9.41.270(1). (Ord. 17372 (part), 1999)

9.46.020 Possession of contraband prohibited.

A person is guilty of possessing contraband if the person knowingly (1) possesses, owns or has on his or her person contraband while in the Skagit County Jail; or (2) attempts to bring contraband into the Skagit County Jail for his or her own use. (Ord. 17372 (part), 1999)

9.46.030 Penalty.

A person introducing contraband shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and punished by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars, or by imprisonment in the County jail for not more than ninety days or by both such fine and imprisonment. (Ord. 17372 (part), 1999)
