DISCHARGING FIREARMS

9.80.010 Unlawful in Home Valley Park.

A. From and after the 21st day of March, 1983, it is unlawful for a person to wilfully discharge a firearm within that certain area in Sections 34 & 35, Township 3 North, Range 8 East, W. M. described as follows:

Commencing at the intersection of the east line of the William M. Murphy D.L.C. and the government meander of the north shore of the Columbia River; thence north along the east line of the William M. Murphy D.L.C. to a point 437.86 feet south of the intersection of the north line of Section 34, Township 3 North, Range 8 East, W.M. and said east line of the William M. Murphy D.L.C.; thence N 36° 33' E 348.17 feet; thence following a 150 ft. radius curve to the right 140.71 ft.; thence N 89° 18' E parallel with the north line of Section 34, 626.36 ft.; thence N 23° 26' E 110.61' to the south right-of-way line of State Highway No. 14; thence east along said right-of-way line to the intersection of the centerline projection of Wind Mountain Road and the southerly right-of-way line of State Highway No. 14; thence south to the north shore meander of the Columbia River; thence following said meander westerly to the point of beginning.

Said property commonly known and designated as the Home Valley Park.

B. The penalty for violation of this section shall be as prescribed in Skamania County Code, Chapter 1.01.150. (Ord. 1983-02)

9.80.020 Unlawful in Northwestern Lake.

A. From and after the 21st day of January, 1986, it is unlawful for a person to wilfully discharge a firearm within that certain area commonly known as “Northwestern Lake” and more particularly described on Schedule “A”, attached to the ordinance codified in this section, consisting of one page, which by this reference is incorporated herein as though fully set out in this section.

B. The penalty for violation of this section shall be as prescribed in Skamania County Code, Chapter 1.01.150.

C. This section shall not apply to law enforcement officers in the discharge of their duty nor shall this section in any way abridge the rights of individuals to bear arms as constitutionally guaranteed by Article I, Section 24 of the state constitution, and the U.S. Constitution, nor their rights to defend themselves or their property, but shall only regulate the discharge of firearms within the described area. 9.80.030 Exemption from prohibitions.

Skamania County is exempt from all prohibitions of 9.41.050, Section 405, subsection (4) RCW. (Ord. 1994-09)
