15.24.010 Northwest Energy Code adopted by reference.

The Northwest Energy Code, 1987 Edition, as promulgated by the Bonneville Power Administration, is adopted by reference, and shall apply to all new residential construction using electrical space heating, and to all new nonresidential construction using electrical space conditioning and electrical lighting. (Ord. 637 § 1, 1990).

15.24.020 Amendments to Northwest Energy Code adopted.

A. The “Model Conservation Standards Equivalent Amendments to the Northwest Energy Code,” June 1987 Edition (consisting of Chapters 1 through 10) as existing or as the same may be amended as of or after the effective date of the ordinance codified in this section, is adopted by reference for application with respect to (1) new residential construction using electrical space heating, and (2) new commercial buildings using electric space conditioning and electric lighting, except those commercial buildings which are not electrically space conditioned shall only be required to comply with Section 505 of the Northwest Energy Code; and provided, that for commercial buildings, ventilation requirements contained in Section 305 of the Washington State Energy Code shall be the applicable standard.

B. The “Conversion Standard Equivalent Code Amendments to the Model Energy Code,” December 24, 1986 Edition, as existing or as the same may be amended as of or after the effective date of the ordinance codified in this section, is adopted by reference for application with respect to any building constructed pursuant to a building permit issued from and after the effective date of the ordinance codified in this section, which at the time of initial construction was not required to comply with the model conservation standards as set forth in subsection A of this section but which are subsequently being converted to provide electric space heating and conditioning. 15.24.030 Copies at City Hall.

Three copies of the Northwest Energy Code shall be maintained on file at City Hall and shall be available for public inspection during normal business hours. (Ord. 637 § 2, 1990).
