PUBLIC DANCES

5.08.010 Defined.

Any dance or ball within the corporate limits of the city, to which the public generally may gain admission with or without the payment of an admission fee, is declared to be a public dance. (Ord. 120 § 1, 1945).

5.08.020 Disorderly conduct prohibited.

All public dances shall be conducted in an orderly manner, and all noise and boisterous conduct that would tend to disturb any of the public shall be prohibited. (Ord. 120 § 2, 1945).

5.08.030 Intoxicating liquor prohibited.

No drinking of intoxicating liquor shall be permitted in the room in which any public dance is being conducted. (Ord. 120 § 3, 1945).

5.08.040 Hours of operation.

All public dances shall close at and no dancing shall be permitted after the hour of 1:00 a.m., and no dancing shall again be permitted until after the hour of 10:00 a.m. of the same day excepting on Sunday, and on Sunday, no dancing shall be permitted. (Ord. 120 § 4, 1945).

5.08.050 Violation – Penalty.

Any person conducting any public dance, and any person sponsoring any public dance, and any person attending any public dance, and any person permitting any public dance and any person upon whose place a public dance takes place in violation of any of the terms of this chapter shall be subject to the penalty provided in Chapter 1.10 SLMC. (Ord. 532 § 2, 1978; Ord. 120 § 5, 1945).
