5.40.010 Definitions.

As used in this chapter:

“Flea market” means an open market at which a person provides spaces for a fee, or otherwise, to display and sell antiques, second-hand goods, curios, clothing and other sundry items on a transient basis.

“Sponsor” means the person who initiates, organizes, and holds the flea market. (Ord. 880 § 1, 1997).

5.40.020 Where permitted.

Flea markets shall be allowed only in C-1, C-2 and M-1 zones within the city of Soap Lake. (Ord. 880 § 2, 1997).

5.40.030 Hours.

Flea market hours will be 8:00 a.m. to dusk. (Ord. 880 § 3, 1997).

5.40.040 Overnight stays.

Sellers may stay in fully self-contained vehicles on the flea market property for two nights, or no more than three nights if it is a holiday. (Ord. 880 § 4, 1997).

5.40.050 Appearance and order.

Sponsor will make provision for a dumpster on premises. All garbage, trash, papers, boxes and/or debris will be cleaned up by closing time of each day of operation. Sponsor is responsible for the appearance and cleanliness of the area and to maintain order at all times. (Ord. 880 § 5, 1997).

5.40.060 Parking.

The sponsor will provide off-street parking for a minimum of five or more vehicles for workers and/or the public. (Ord. 880 § 6, 1997).

5.40.070 Business license.

The sponsor shall obtain a city business license to operate a flea market. (Ord. 880 § 7, 1997).
