13.15.010 Discharge permit required.

Septic discharge removed from private septic tanks by commercial septic tank pumpers and cleaners may be discharged into the city of South Bend wastewater collection and treatment system upon obtaining an annual permit from the city supervisor. The permit application fee is $25.00 per year and must be renewed annually. (Ord. 1157 § 1, 1989).

13.15.020 Charges.

Charges shall be based on the rate of $0.03 per gallon as based on the nominal size of the tank pumped, i.e., 750 gallon tank, $22.50; 1,200 gallon tank, $36.00. (Ord. 1157 § 2, 1989).

13.15.030 Basis of charging – Report.

Reporting by the commercial septic tank pumper/cleaner shall be the basis of charging and, further, shall be the responsibility of the commercial operator. The operator shall provide a listing of the address of the tank(s) pumped, their size, and the date and time of discharge at the disposal port specified by the city supervisor. These reports shall be submitted to the utility clerk, South Bend City Hall, bimonthly no later than the twenty-fifth day of December, February, April, June, August and October. 13.15.040 Waiving of charges.

Charges shall be waived for those pumped/cleaned facilities within the corporate limits of the city of South Bend. (Ord. 1157 § 4, 1989).
