APPLICATION, VIOLATION, AND PENALTY

17.30.010 General.

All development and use of land within the corporate limits of the City shall conform to all of the requirements of the SVMC, unless specifically exempted herein or by the operation of law. All violations of SVMC Titles 17 through 24 are hereby determined to be detrimental to the public health, safety, and general welfare and are hereby declared public nuisances. Further, any person who willfully or knowingly causes, aids, or abets a violation pursuant to the SVMC, by any act of commission or omission, is guilty of a misdemeanor. In addition to any other remedy allowed by law, the City may seek to prosecute such misdemeanor and upon conviction, the person shall be punished by a fine not to exceed $1,000 and/or incarceration for a term not to exceed 90 days. Each week (seven consecutive days) such violation continues shall be considered a separate misdemeanor offense. (Ord. 16-018 § 6 (Att. B), 2016).
