1.04.010 Designation of official posting places.

The city of Sumas hereby designates the following three locations within the city limits of the city of Sumas as the official posting places for city notices:

(1)    The Sumas City Hall;

(2)    United States Post Office in the city of Sumas; and

(3)    The Sumas Community Center (currently located at 461 Second St.). (Ord. 1764 § 1, 2020: Ord. 1556 § 2, 2010: Ord. 687 § 1, 1971)

1.04.020 Designation of official newspaper.

The city of Sumas hereby designates the Lynden Tribune as the city’s official newspaper. (Ord. 1556 § 3, 2010)

1.04.030 Notification procedure.

Except to the extent otherwise required by law, any of the following shall be deemed acceptable methods for the city to provide notice to the public, including notification of upcoming hearings and the preliminary agenda for the forthcoming council meeting: written notification to the city’s official newspaper, publication of a notice in the official newspaper, posting written notification at all or any one of the city’s designated locations for posting.
