4.64.010 Adoption of state statutes.

The sale of fireworks within the city of Sumas shall be governed by RCW Chapter 70.77, which statute is adopted by the city. (Ord. 832 § 1, 1982)

4.64.020 License to sell fireworks.

(a)    The sale of fireworks within the city shall be limited to the following: bona fide charitable organizations.

(b)    Any charitable organization which desires to sell fireworks within Sumas shall make written application to the city council and such application shall be in the form as provided by the city clerk-treasurer and shall be accompanied by an annual license fee of twenty-five dollars. No license to sell fireworks shall be granted unless the application as provided is approved at the regular city councilmeeting.

(c)    Applications under this chapter to sell fireworks must be made annually. (Ord. 832 § 2, 1982)

4.64.030 Violation-penalty.

Any person or entity violating any of the provisions of this chapter or statutes incorporated under this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be punished by a fine of not less than five hundred dollars nor more than one thousand dollars and/or by imprisonment in the county jail for six months. Punishment under this chapter shall be in addition to any penalties as may be imposed under RCW Chapter 70.77, violations of state law. (Ord. 832 § 3, 1982)
