10.58.010 Town Center Plan area.

It is unlawful for any person to use or operate a coaster or skateboard in the Town Center Plan area of the city of Sumner, except upon private property with the permission of the owner or person in control.

The Town Center Plan area is defined as in SMC Title 18. (Ord. 2774 § 2, 2021; Ord. 1754 § 1, 1996)

10.58.020 Operation prohibited.

It is unlawful for any person to operate a coaster, roller skates, roller blades, or skateboard in a negligent manner upon any street, sidewalk, or publicly owned parking lot. For the purpose of this section, “to operate in a negligent manner” means the operation of a coaster, roller skates, roller blades, or skateboard in such a manner as to endanger or be likely to endanger any persons or property. 10.58.030 Parental responsibility.

It is unlawful for every parent, guardian, or other adult person having the care and custody of any minor child under 18 years of age to knowingly permit such minor child to violate this chapter. (Ord. 1754 § 3, 1996)

10.58.040 Violation – Penalty.

Any person violating any provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of a civil infraction. The civil penalty for a first violation within a one-year period shall be $25.00; for a second violation within a one-year period the penalty shall be $100.00; and for a third or subsequent violation within a one-year period the penalty shall be $250.00.
