2.28.015 Civil Service for City firefighters.

A. The system commonly known as “Civil Service” as authorized in Chapter 41.08 RCW is provided for the Fire Department of the City of Sunnyside. All full-paid firefighters up to but excluding the position of Fire Chief are included in the Civil Service.

B. There is created for the administration of the Civil Service for the City Fire Department a Civil Service Commission composed of three members. The members of the Civil Service Commission shall be appointed by the City Manager. The term of each Civil Service Commissioner shall be for six years and shall serve without pay. In the event any Civil Service Commissioner resigns, becomes disqualified, or is removed for cause, another Commissioner shall be appointed to serve the unexpired portion of the term. 2.28.016 Qualifications of Fire Chief.

The qualifications for the position of Fire Chief shall be as determined from time to time by the City Manager, in accordance with any applicable statutory requirements. [Ord. 2014-1 § 6, 2014.]
