3.72.010 Consumer price index adjustments.
Effective January 1, 2001, and continuing on January 1st of each year thereafter where no specific action has been taken to adjust rates, fees and/or charges, all such rates, fees and/or charges shall be adjusted by the increase, if any, in the Consumer Price Index, All Urban Consumers, for the Seattle, Tacoma area, All Items, as published by the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics. (Ord. 578 § 1, 2000; Ord. 561 § 1, 1999).
3.72.020 Application.
This chapter shall apply to all rates, fees and/or charges imposed by city ordinance to include, but not necessarily be limited to, utility rates, charges and/or fees imposed by utility ordinances; land use fees and charges; license and permit fees; business registration fees; animal license fees, impound and boarding fees; copying and document production fees; equipment rental rates; swimming pool fees and charges; and any and all other fees and charges authorized to be imposed by the city and/or its officers and agents. 3.72.030 Annual calculation and posting.
Adjustments to all such fees and/or charges shall be computed in December of each year (except solid waste/garbage collection rates) to be effective January 1st of the following year using the then most current statistical information available from the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics for the preceding 12-month period and said fee schedule shall be presented to the council, posted in City Hall and copies made available to the public upon request.
The adjusted rates to be charged in the ensuing year for solid waste (garbage) collection shall be computed on or before November 15th and published pursuant to RCW 35A.21.152 and included in the fee schedule with all other fees as set forth above. (Ord. 578 § 1, 2000; Ord. 561 § 3, 1999).
