9.24.020 Knives prohibited.

It is unlawful for anyone on or in any premises in the city where alcoholic beverages are held for sale by the drink for on-premises consumption to carry any knife or other cutting or stabbing instrument with a blade of a length of four or more inches, whether said weapon is concealed or not. (Ord. 282 § 2, 1980).

9.24.030 Menacing with weapon prohibited.

It is unlawful for anyone to carry, exhibit, display or draw any firearm, dagger, sword, knife or other cutting or stabbing instrument, club, slingshot, metal knuckle or any other weapon apparently capable of producing bodily harm in a manner, under circumstances and at a time and place that either manifests an intent to intimidate another or that warrants alarm for the safety of other persons. (Ord. 282 § 3, 1980).

9.24.040 Exceptions.

The following are exceptions to TMC 9.24.010 through 9.24.030:

A. Any person who, by virtue of his office or public employment, is vested by law with a duty to preserve public safety, maintain public order or to make arrests for offenses while in the performance of such duty;

B. Any person acting for the purpose of protecting himself or another against the use of unlawful force by another; and

C. Any person making or assisting in making a lawful arrest for the commission of a felony. (Ord. 282 § 4, 1980).
