2.45.010 Volunteer firefighters relief plan enrollment.

The city manager and city clerk are authorized to enroll all volunteer firefighters and reserve police officers of the city under the provisions of the State of Washington Volunteer Firefighters Relief and Pension Plan pursuant to Chapter 41.24 RCW, and the city is authorized to pay all costs for such enrollment to the extent permitted by RCW 41.24.030, as it may be amended. (Ord. 2004-4 § 1, 2004).

2.45.020 Volunteer firefighters board of trustees.

There is created the volunteer firefighters board of trustees, which board of trustees shall consist of the following: the mayor, one council member, the city clerk, the fire chief, and one volunteer member. The city council shall appoint the one city council member to serve as a trustee, and the volunteer firefighter shall elect one of their members as a trustee, which trustee shall serve initially for the term of one year and a new election for a trustee shall be held annually thereafter. (Ord. 2004-4 § 1, 2004).

2.45.030 Board of trustees – Duties and responsibilities.

The Toppenish volunteer firefighters board of trustees shall have all of the duties and responsibilities and shall hold its meetings as provided and required by Chapter 41.24 RCW. (Ord. 2004-4 § 1, 2004).
