12.12.010 Obstructions declared nuisance.

All obstructions to streets, alleys, crossings or sidewalks of the city, and all excavations in or under the same which are by ordinance prohibited, or which may be made without lawful permission, or which, having been made by lawful permission, are kept and maintained after the purpose thereof has been accomplished, or for any unreasonable length of time are declared to be nuisances. In addition to the above, obstructions shall also be defined to include any work, repair or maintenance of any motor vehicle, machine or equipment on any city right-of-way, other than emergency type repairs. Emergency repairs shall include only those repairs which are immediately necessary for the utility and function of the such motor vehicle, machine or equipment, and which are minor in nature. 12.12.020 Discharging liquids onto streets prohibited.

It is unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to empty or discharge any water or other liquid from any plumbing fixture or air conditioner into or upon any of the streets or alleys of the city. (Ord. A-237 § 1, 1944).

12.12.030 Removal of snow and ice required when.

The owner, tenant or person in charge of any lot or parcel of real estate within the limits of the city shall remove, or cause to be removed, from any sidewalk abutting upon such lot or parcel of real estate all snow and ice within eight hours after the fall of snow or formation of ice. (Ord. A-481 § 1, 1957).

12.12.040 Violation – Penalty.

It shall be a misdemeanor for any person, firm or corporation to violate the terms of this chapter or permit a nuisance as set forth herein and each person, form or corporation convicted of a violation of this chapter shall be punished by a fine of not more than $500.00.
