TUMWATER PARTICIPATION – THURSTON COUNCIL ON CULTURAL DIVERSITY AND HUMAN RIGHTS

2.64.010 Tumwater participation – Thurston County council on cultural diversity and human rights.

The city of Tumwater hereby declares its intent to participate in the Thurston council on diversity and human rights as established by Ordinance No. 10365 of Thurston County, Washington.

2.64.020 Purpose and function of council.

As stated in Thurston County Ordinance No. 10365, the purpose and function of said council is to promote multicultural diversity and human rights education, support diverse cultural activities, and provide a forum for interaction between diverse cultural groups and to facilitate the protection of human rights and equality of opportunity by educating the community about the value of cultural and ethnic diversity.

2.64.030 Recommendation for appointment of a Tumwater representative for council membership.

In the event of a vacancy in the Tumwater position on said council, either through the completion of the three-year term or as a result of a mid-term vacancy, the mayor, with the approval of the city council, shall recommend a successor to the Thurston County commissioners.
