15.40.060 Fire code.

A. Each temporary activity, operation, practice or function set forth in Section 105.6 shall have a permit fee of thirty-three dollars and two cents.

B. Permits required by Section 105.6.48 shall be referred to as “fire and life safety permits.” Fees for fire and life safety permits shall be as established in Section 15.40.070.

C. Permits required by Section 105.7.7 shall have a fee of sixty-six dollars and five cents per item (3), Inspection, for which no fee is specifically indicated.

D. When a plan or other data is required to be submitted, a plan review fee shall be paid at the time of submitting plans and specifications for review. Said plan review fee shall be sixty-five percent of the permit fee as noted in the tables above.

E. The plan review fees specified in this subsection are separate fees from the permit fees and are in addition to those fees. Where plans are incomplete or changed so as to require additional plan review, an additional plan review fee shall be charged at a rate of sixty-six dollars and five cents per hour (a minimum charge of one hour).

2. When a plan or other data is required to be submitted, a plan review fee shall be paid at the time of submitting plans and specifications for review. Said plan review fee shall be 65% of the permit fee as noted in the tables above. The plan review fees specified in this subsection are separate fees from the permit fees and are in addition to those fees. Where plans are incomplete or changed so as to require additional plan review, an additional plan review fee shall be charged at a rate of $66.05 per hour (a minimum charge of 1 hour).

Exterior Site Inspection

For existing buildings, permit fees will be applied as follows:

•  If no reinspection is necessary, the fee is 50 percent of the fee schedule. No reinspection would be required when fewer than five minor deficiencies are noted, provided that written documentation of compliance is received by the Fire Prevention Bureau.

•  If an initial inspection plus no more than two reinspections are necessary, the fee is 100 percent of the fee schedule.

•  If more than two reinspections are necessary, the fee is 100 percent plus 50 percent of the fee schedule. Continued failure to correct deficiencies may result in issuance of a citation.

•  When more than one structure is on the same property, the fee will be based on the area of the largest structure, plus 50% of each additional structure.

•  Technical assistance and a preinspection survey will be provided upon request at no charge. This will be followed by an initial inspection. Following the initial inspection, reinspections will be made as necessary. When necessary corrections, if any, have been made, a Certificate of Occupancy will be issued for the building or facility.
