Chapter 35.63 RCW is adopted by reference. (Ord. 563 §§ 8, 57, 1996; Ord. 516, 1992).

2.20.020 Created – Responsibilities.

Pursuant to Chapter 35.63 RCW, there is created a planning commission of the town with the powers and duties prescribed in this chapter. The planning commission shall be responsible for:

A. Review and updating of the comprehensive plan for the town;

B. Information and administration of the land use regulations of the town;

C. Development of new land use regulations or revisions of existing land use regulations for consideration by the town council;

D. Preparation of reports and recommendations on land use applications including subdivisions, variances, conditional uses, other related permits and environmental review; and

E. Other related duties as requested by the mayor or town council. (Ord. 563 §§ 8, 57, 1996; Ord. 516, 1992).

2.20.030 Membership.

There is created a planning commission which shall consist of five members. All five members must be residents of the town. The members of the planning commission shall be appointed by the mayor and approved by the town council as per WMC 2.20.050. They shall serve for a term of six years. (Ord. 563 §§ 8, 57, 1996; Ord. 516, 1992).

2.20.040 Duties.

The commission shall have the authority and duties as set out in RCW 35.63.060. (Ord. 563 §§ 8, 57, 1996; Ord. 516, 1992).

2.20.050 Vacancy filling.

The town clerk/treasurer shall be responsible for advertising any vacancies on the planning commission and receiving applications. The planning commission may recommend to the mayor the names of candidates. The mayor shall appoint nominees to serve on the planning commission subject to town council confirmation. 2.20.060 Expense authorization.

The town council shall authorize the necessary expenses of the planning commission through the annual budgetary ordinances. (Ord. 563 §§ 8, 57, 1996; Ord. 516, 1992).

2.20.070 Meetings.

The planning commission shall meet the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the offices of the Town Hall. (Ord. 563 §§ 8, 57, 1996; Ord. 516, 1992).
