5.60.010 Minors – Unlawful to admit – Exception.

It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation or any person, agent or servant or employee thereof conducting, operating, owning, maintaining or in charge of any building, room or rooms, tent or place wherein any billiard table, pool table or card table or any other gaming table or device is kept, operated or maintained within the city of Wenatchee, to permit any child or children under the age of 21 years to enter the same for any purpose whatsoever, provided, however, that messenger boys and newsboys entering for business purposes only will be excepted from the provisions of this section. It shall be unlawful for any person to permit any child or children under the age of 16 years to enter any bowling alley within the city of Wenatchee. (Ord. 502 § 1, 1919)

5.60.020 Minors – Unlawful to enter – Exception.

It shall be unlawful for any child under the age of 21 years to enter any building, room, tent or place wherein any billiard table, pool table, card table or any other gaming table or device is kept or operated within the city of Wenatchee, for any purpose whatsoever; provided that messenger boys and newsboys entering said enumerated places for business only are excepted from the provisions of this section. It shall be unlawful for any child or children under the age of 16 years to enter any bowling alley within the city of Wenatchee. (Ord. 502 § 2, 1919)

5.60.030 Hours of operation – Restrictions.

It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation of any agent, servant or employee of such person, firm or corporation conducting, operating, owning, maintaining or in charge of any building, room, tent or place or places wherein any billiard table, bowling alley, pool table, card table or any other gaming table or device is kept, operated or maintained within the city of Wenatchee, to keep said billiard room, pool room, bowling alley, card room, or any other room in which any other gaming table or device is situated open for business, or to permit any person or persons to remain in any such place or in any cigar store, confectionery store or newsstand connected therewith, between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 5:00 a.m. of the following day on any day of the week except Sunday; and on Sunday it shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation, or any agent, servant or employee thereof, conducting, operating, owning or maintaining or in charge of any of the places hereinbefore mentioned to keep open for business or to permit any person or persons to remain in any such place between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 5:00 a.m. on the following Monday, except that cigar stores, confectionery stores or newsstands connected with any such place may remain open for business between the hours of 5:00 a.m. Sunday and 12:00 midnight, Sunday night, but it shall be unlawful for any such cigar store, confectionery store or newsstand connected with such place to be kept open for business at any other hour on Sunday. 5.60.040 Side room operation – Prohibited.

It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation or any agent, servant or employee thereof conducting, operating, owning, maintaining, or in charge of any pool room, bowling alley, billiard room, or card room in the city of Wenatchee to maintain or permit to be maintained any side room separated from the main room in which any such games shall be played, but all pool tables, billiard tables, bowling alleys or card tables shall be in full view of anyone in the main room. 5.60.050 Gaming devices – Certain area prohibited.

It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation, or any agent, servant or employee thereof to conduct, operate or maintain or have in charge any billiard room, pool room, card room or room in which any other such gaming table or device is kept, maintained or operated, in any first floor room or basement of any building fronting on Wenatchee Avenue within the city of Wenatchee, between Kittitas Street and First Street North. 5.60.060 Violations – Penalty.

Any person, firm or corporation, or any agent, servant or employee of such person, firm or corporation who shall violate any of the provisions of this chapter shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine in any sum not exceeding $100.00, or by imprisonment in the city jail not exceeding 30 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
