13.12.010 Inspection and testing required – When to be made.

The applicant for the building or side sewer service permit prior to backfilling building side sewer service and connecting to the existing side sewer service stub off the city’s sanitary sewer main shall schedule an inspection with the building inspector when the building side sewer service is ready for inspection and under static hydraulic test. All side sewer services shall have a static hydraulic test performed for a minimum of 15 minutes. Water level for the static hydraulic test shall be within six inches of the ground level at the building. The watertight integrity of the static hydraulic test shall be no leakage. Static hydraulic test shall be observed by the building inspector or his/her representative. The applicant for the building or side sewer service permit shall notify the city engineer two working days before connecting to the city’s public sanitary sewer main and/or working within the city’s road right-of-way. The side sewer service connection to the city’s public sanitary sewer main shall be made by a properly licensed and bonded contractor under the supervision of the city engineer or his/her representative. The side sewer service connection to the city’s public sanitary sewer main or existing side sewer service shall not be made unless and until the building inspector has approved the building side sewer service installation and static hydraulic test.
