12.26.020 Access standards.

In order to implement the requirements of Chapter 47.50 RCW, the provisions of Chapters 468-51 and 468-52 WAC, as may be amended, are adopted by reference, with the following exceptions and standards:

(1) Driveways accessing the state highway shall meet the requirements of Chapter 12.20 WMC.

(2) There shall be no more than one driveway per property accessing the state highway.

(3) Whenever possible, access shall be from city streets instead of the state highway. (Ord. 1567 § 1, 2014)

12.26.030 Permit required.

No person shall construct any vehicular access and connection points of ingress to, and egress from, the state highway system within the city of Westport without first obtaining a public improvement permit in accordance with Chapter 12.06 WMC. (Ord. 1567 § 1, 2014)

12.26.040 Nonconforming connections.

The city may issue a permit for a connection not meeting city standards for number, location, and spacing criteria if it finds that a conforming connection is not attainable at the time of the permit application submittal and that denial would leave the property without a reasonable access to the public road system.
