UNION CONTRACT NEGOTIATORS

2.75.010 Negotiator selection.

At least two (2) meetings before union negotiations are set to begin, the Town Council shall accept nominations for union negotiators. The Council shall review the credentials of each nominee and select the nominees based on majority vote. The Council may vote to select either one (1) or two (2) negotiators, who shall serve at the pleasure of the Council. [Ord. 96.30 § 1, 1996].

2.75.020 Council approval.

When negotiations of any union contract are finalized, but before signature, the proposed contract shall be presented by the negotiator(s) to the Town Council for approval, rejection, or proposed modification and resubmission. [Ord. 96.30 § 2, 1996].

2.75.030 Executive session.

Upon being presented with the contract, the Town Council shall have an executive session with the Council, the Town Attorney or other attorney representing the City for the negotiations, the negotiators, and the Mayor to examine and discuss the proposed labor agreement. [Ord. 96.30 § 3, 1996].

2.75.040 Council vote.

After the executive session, the Council shall vote to either approve, reject, or modify and resubmit the contract for further negotiations. [Ord. 96.30 § 4, 1996].
