9.08.010 Designated.

The maximum gross weight restriction imposed on vehicular traffic using town roads is set at twenty-five thousand pounds, and no vehicle having a gross weight in excess thereof shall use town roads. (Ord. 103 § 2, 1980)

9.08.020 Street closures for inclement weather.

The town official designated Town Engineer, or in the absence of any such duly designated official, then the Mayor, shall be and is authorized to close all town roads to truck traffic in the event of an emergency generated by climatic conditions, including, but not limited to, heavy rain and/or sharp or prolonged conditions of rain and freezing temperatures rendering the road surfaces subject to severe damage; the closures shall be on the basis of personal investigation and observation and the filing with the Clerk of written findings preliminary to issuing such closure order. Closure shall be accomplished by deploying the police department and/or appropriate traffic control devices for the time period necessary to resolve the emergency and/or protect the roadways from severe damage.
