9.25.010 Breaking curfew unlawful.

It shall be unlawful for any child under the age of 16 years to appear upon the streets of the town of Yacolt, Washington, after certain hours hereinafter prescribed, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian of the same. [Ord. 112 § 1, 1951.]

9.25.020 Council to establish curfew hours.

The council of said town shall from time to time by resolution establish the hour after which this chapter shall be effective; provided, that the said hour shall not be earlier than 8:00 a.m., nor later than 10:00 p.m.; provided further, that in the absence of such resolution, or in the event that a resolution so made be not repealed, amended, or reenacted upon the expiration of a period of six months from the making thereof, or sooner, the hour of 10:00 p.m. shall be deemed, and is hereby established, the hour after which this resolution shall be effective. 9.25.030 Violation – Penalty.

It shall be the duty of the marshal to arrest any child under the age of 16 years found upon the streets of the town of Yacolt in violation thereof, and to forthwith conduct such child to its parent or guardian; provided, however, that upon the arrest for a second offense hereunder, the mayor shall notify and request the prosecuting attorney of Clark County, Washington, to proceed against such child and the parents or guardian thereof, under the laws of the state of Washington pertaining to juvenile delinquents. 9.25.040 Parents of juvenile – Violation – Penalty.

Any parent or guardian who shall refuse to keep any child in his or her custody off the streets as hereby required shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and shall be punished by a fine of not less than $5.00 nor more than $50.00. [Ord. 112 § 4, 1951.]
