2.88.010 Formed – Name.

The port district, the boundaries of which are hereinafter described, is formed as a municipal corporation of the state. The name of such port district shall be “Port of Sunnyside.”

2.88.020 Boundaries.

The Port of Sunnyside, Yakima County, Washington, is enlarged so as to embrace within the limits thereof the territory situated in Yakima County, Washington, described as follows:

Beginning at a point where the north boundary of Yakima County intersects the range line between Ranges 21 and 22, E.W.M.; thence east along said north boundary line of Yakima County to the midchannel of the Columbia River; thence southeasterly along the midchannel of the Columbia River to its intersection with the east boundary of Yakima County; thence south along the east boundary line of Yakima County to the southeast corner of Section 12, Township 12 North, Range 23, E.W.M.; thence west to the northeast corner of Section 14, Township 12 North, Range 23, E.W.M.; thence south to the southeast corner of said Section 14; thence west to the southwest corner of said Section 14; thence south to the southeast corner of Section 22, Township 12 North, Range 23, E.W.M.; thence west to the southwest corner of said Section 22; thence south to the southeast corner of Section 33, Township 12 North, Range 23, E.W.M.; thence west to the southwest corner of Section 31, Township 12 North, Range 22, E.W.M.; thence north along the west lines of Sections 31, 30, 19, 18, 7 and 6 in Township 12 North, Range 22, E.W.M. to the northwest corner of said Section 6; thence north along the west line of Section 31, Township 13 North, Range 22, E.W.M. to the northwest corner of said Section 31; thence east along the north lines of Sections 31, 32 and 33, Township 13 North, Range 22, E.W.M. to the southwest corner of Section 27, Township 13 North, Range 22, E.W.M.; thence north along the west lines of Sections 27, 22, 15, 10 and 3 in Township 13 North, Range 22, E.W.M. to the northwest corner of said Section 3; thence west along the north lines of Sections 4, 5 and 6 to the range line between Ranges 21 and 22, E.W.M.; thence north along said range line to point of beginning.

2.88.030 Commissioners’ Jurisdiction.

The boundaries of the Port of Sunnyside as enlarged by the inclusion therein and the annexation thereof of the additional territory hereinabove immediately described shall be so enlarged and the commissioners thereof shall have jurisdiction over the whole of the district as enlarged to the same extent, and with like power and authority, as though the additional territory had been originally embraced within the boundaries of the existing Port of Sunnyside; provided, however, that none of the lands or property embraced within the territory added to and incorporated within the Port of Sunnyside shall be liable to assessments for the payment of any outstanding bonds, warrants or other indebtedness of such original Port of Sunnyside.

2.88.040 Commissioner Districts – Boundaries.

(1)    District No. 1.

DISTRICT NO. 1: Population, 48,571. All of Northwestern Yakima County, starting at the intersection of the Yakima River and the Kittitas County Line, proceeding southward along the river to the southeast corner of the 44th precinct; thence westward along the southern boundary of the 44th precinct to I Street; thence westerly along I Street to the northwest corner of the 7th precinct; thence southerly along the mainline railroad tracks dividing Yakima into Eastern and Western portions to their intersection with a line connecting Division & Pacific Streets; thence westward out Division Street and Tieton Drive to Glenside Avenue (also known as 48th Avenue); thence south to the intersection of Glenside and Nob Hill Boulevard; thence southwest along the Y.V.T. (U.P.R.R.) tracks to Wide Hollow Creek, thence westerly along Wide Hollow Creek to Dazet Road; thence south on Dazet Road to Zier Road, thence westerly out Zier Road (formerly West Road) to Moore Road, thence southerly on Moore Road to the Tieton Canal; thence west out the Tieton Canal to Cottonwood Road; thence west on Cottonwood Road to Slavin Road; thence continuing in a line due west to the Lewis County line. District No. 1 is composed of the following precincts: 8 & 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 & 30, 16, 17, 18 & 19, 33, 34, 38, 41, 43, 44, 46, 49, 50, 51, 53, 58, 59, 60, 63, 64, 65, 66, 68, 69, 74, and 75 Yakima; 51, Gleed; 56, Harwood; 58 Leamingburg; 60, Lower Wenas; 66, Naches City; 67, Naches Heights; 68, Nile; 76, 151 Selah Town; 134, Selah Town; 77, Selah Central; 78, Selah Extension; 79, North Selah Heights; 89, Tieton Town; 89, East Tieton; 98, Upper Wenas; 105, West Naches; 106, West Nob Hill; 111, Wide Hollow; 114, West Tieton; 121, Cascade; 122, Cottonwood; 123, South Cowiche; 127, East Fruitvale; 128, Gromore; 130, North Cowiche; 132, Selah Rural; 135, Englewood; 141, East Naches; 144, East Summitview; 147, Eschbach; 149, West Fruitvale; Apple Valley, Castlevale, Chinook, Cliffdell, Crescent, Glenwood, Scenic, South Naches, South Selah Heights, Sunset, Westview, and Westwood.

(2)    District No. 2.

DISTRICT NO. 2: Population, 48,423. All of southwestern Yakima County, starting at the intersection of the Yakima River with the Benton County line; thence northwesterly along the Yakima River to the principal railroad bridge across the Yakima River at Union Gap; thence northerly along the railroad tracks to the City of Union Gap; thence northerly along the western limits of the City of Union Gap to the mainline railroad tracks separating East and West Yakima; thence northerly on the mainline tracks to their intersection with a line connecting Division and Pacific Streets in the City of Yakima; thence westerly along the same line previously enunciated for the 1st Commissioner District. District No. 2 is composed of the following precincts: 27 & 28, 29, 31, 32, 35, 36, 37, 40, 42, 45, 47, 48 & 62, 52, 54, 55, 56, 57, 61, 70, 71, 72, and 73 Yakima; 55, Harrah Town; 55, Harrah Rural; 61, Mabton Town; 62, Mabton Rural; 63, McKinley; 88, Tampico; 90 & 91, Toppenish Tn. 1 & 2; 92 & 93, Toppenish Tn. 3 & 4; Toppenish Tn. 5 & 6; Toppenish Tn. 7; 94, Toppenish R1.1; 95, Toppenish R1.2; 96, Toppenish R1.3; 100 & 101, Wapato Town; 102, Wapato Town; 131, Wapato Town; 103, West Ahtanum; 107, West Parker; 109, West Wapato; 110, White Swan; 112, Wiley City; 115, Brownstown; 117, Alfalfa; 120, Byron; 124, East Ahtanum; 125, South Broadway; 136, Bradshaw; 137, Airport; 140, Old Town; 142, South Nob Hill; 145, East Wapato; 150, Glade; North Nob Hill; South Airport; and Zier; 67, Yakima.

DISTRICT NO. 3: Population, 47,977. All of Eastern Yakima County, including all areas east of the Yakima River and the following precincts west of the Yakima River; 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, and 39, in the City of Yakima and Sumac 133, Fairgrounds, Fairview, Jefferson, Riverside 74, Union Gap 1, 2 and 3. District No. 3 is composed of the following precincts: 1 & 2, 3, 4, & 7, 5 & 6, 20 & 22, 21 & 23, 24, 25, 26, 39, Yakima; 1, Grandview Town; 2 & 3, Grandview Town; 4, Grandview Town; 5 & 6, Grandview Town; 54, Granger; 57, North Holland; 59, Liberty; 64, Moxee City; 65, Moxee Rural; 69, North Buena; 70, North Grandview; Grandview Central; 71, Orchardvale; 72, Outlook; 73, Parker Heights; 74, Riverside; 75, Terrace Heights; 80, South Grandview; 81, Sunnyside Town; 82, Sunnyside Town; 83 & 5, Sunnyside Town; 6, Sunnyside Town; 7, Sunnyside Town; 104, Sunnyside Town; 129, Sunnyside Town; 84, Sunnyside Rural 1; 85, Sunnyside Rural 2; Roza; 86, Sunnyside Rural 3; 87, Sunnyside Rural 4; 99, Wanita; 97, Union Gap Tn. 1; Union Gap Tn. 2; Union Gap Tn. 3; 102, Wendell Phillips; 113, Zillah Town; 116, East Granger; 118, Belma; 119, Buena; 126, East Moxee; 133, Sumach; 138, Slavin; 143, East Selah; 146, East Zillah; 148, Fairview; Country Club; Fairgrounds; Jefferson; and South Holland.
