2.50.010 Election poll hours.

The voting polls in the village of Arena, Iowa County, Wisconsin, shall be opened from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for all elections. [Prior code § 2-1-2].

2.50.020 Election officials.

(a) The election officials for each polling place shall be appointed pursuant to Sections 7.30, 7.31 and 7.32, Wis. Stats. Such election officials shall have all of the powers and perform all of the duties prescribed for such officers by the statutes.

(b) The village clerk is hereby authorized to select alternate officials or two sets of officials to work at different times on election day, shall have the power to limit the number of election officials and establish different working hours for different officials.

(c) The village clerk shall determine, in advance of each election, whether the number of election officials for such election should be reduced from the number prescribed by the Wisconsin Statutes, and if such a reduction is so determined, the village clerk shall further redistribute duties among the remaining officials. 2.50.030 Nonpartisan primary for village offices.

The village hereby elects not to be governed by Section 8.05(a), Wis. Stats., from and after the effective date of the resolution codified in this chapter, candidates for elective village offices shall be nominated by a nonpartisan primary conducted pursuant to Section 8.05(4), Wis. Stats. Such candidate shall file with his/her nomination papers a declaration that he/she will qualify for the office to which he/she may be elected. [Res. 10-03. Prior code § 2-1-4].

2.50.040 Voter registration.

All electors for all elections shall be required to be registered. The clerk shall receive applications for registration at his office during regular office hours throughout the year, except that registration may also be completed at village polling places until 5:00 p.m. on the third Wednesday preceding the election, upon presentation of proper identification and proof of residency.
