10.15.010 Stop streets designated.

In the interest of public safety and pursuant to the provisions of Wis. Stat. § 349.07, and other applicable statutory provisions in such case made and provided, the following streets and intersections are declared to be stop streets and traffic signs or signals giving notice thereof shall be erected by the Town Chief of Police in accordance with Chapter 10.35 ETMC:

1.    At the intersection of County Trunk Highway “I” and County Trunk Highway “J” southbound vehicles on County Trunk “I” shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

2.    At the intersection of County Trunk Highway “J” and Walworth County Trunk Highway “ES” eastbound vehicles on County Trunk Highway “J” shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

3.    At the intersection of Marsh Road and County Trunk Highway “J” southbound vehicles on Marsh Road shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

4.    At the intersection of Romadka Park Road and County Trunk Highway “J” northbound vehicles on Romadka Park Road shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

5.    At the intersection of Oakwood Lane and County Trunk Highway “J” northbound vehicles on Oakwood Lane shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

6.    At the intersection of Stringers Bridge Road and County Trunk Highway “J” northbound vehicles on Stringers Bridge Road shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

7.    At the intersection of Count Trunk Highway “E” and County Trunk Highway “J” southbound vehicles on County Trunk E shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

8.    At the intersection of Townline Road and County Trunk Highway “J” northbound vehicles on Townline Road shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

9.    At the intersection of Townline Road and St. Peters Road southbound vehicles on Townline Road shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

10.    At the intersection of Horseshoe Lane and East Shore Road eastbound vehicles on Horseshoe Lane shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

11.    At the intersection of Beulah Heights Road and Stringers Bridge Road westbound vehicles on Beulah Heights shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

12.    At the intersection of Wilmers Grove Road and St. Peters Road southbound vehicles on Wilmers Grove Road shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

13.    At the intersection of St. Peters Road and Townline Road westbound vehicles on St. Peters Road shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

14.    At the intersection of Division Street and St. Peters Road northbound vehicles on Division Street shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

15.    At the intersection of Seminary Road and St. Peters Road southbound vehicles on Seminary Road shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

16.    At the intersection of St. Peters Road and Walworth County Trunk Highway “ES” eastbound vehicles on St. Peters Road shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

17.    At the intersection of Townline Road and Wisconsin State Highway 20 southbound and northbound vehicles on Townline Road shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

18.    At the intersection of Sawyer Road and Walworth County Trunk Highway “ES” eastbound vehicles on Sawyer Road shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

19.    At the intersection of Army Lake Road and Walworth County Trunk Highway “ES” northbound and southbound vehicles on Army Lake Road shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

35.    At the intersection of Honey Creek Road and State Highway 120 westbound vehicles on Honey Creek Road shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

36.    At the intersection of Carver School Road and Honey Creek Road southbound vehicles on Carver School Road shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

59.    At the intersection of Wisconsin State Highway 20 and Walworth County Trunk Highway “ES” westbound vehicles on Wisconsin State Highway 20 shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

60.    At the intersection of Ash Street and Miramar Road northbound vehicles on Ash Street shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

61.    At the intersection of Maple Street and Miramar Road northbound vehicles on Maple Street shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

62.    At the intersection of Hickory Street and Miramar Road northbound vehicles on Hickory Street shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

63.    At the intersection of Cedar Street and Miramar Road northbound vehicles on Cedar Street shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

69.    At the intersection of Thiede Road and County Trunk Highway “L” northbound vehicles on Thiede Road shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

70.    At the intersection of Sawyer Lane with the East Troy Railway grade crossing, southbound vehicles on Sawyer Lane shall stop before entering upon or crossing the railroad tracks.

71.    At the intersection of Wilmers Grove with Wilmers Landing eastbound vehicles on Wilmers Grove shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection. Seasonally, from April 1st through October 15th of each year, at the intersection of Wilmers Grove Road and Wilmers Landing southbound vehicles on Wilmers Landing shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

72.    At the intersection of Harmony Lane and Miramar Road southbound and westbound vehicles on Harmony Lane shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

73.    At the intersection of Bell School Road and Hillburn Mill Road westbound vehicles on Bell School Road shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

74.    At the intersection of Oakwood Lane and Lake Road westbound vehicles on Lake Road shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

75.    At the intersection of Wilmers Landing and Wilmers Grove Road southbound vehicles on Wilmers Landing shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

76.    At the intersection of Romadka Park Road vehicles shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

77.    At the intersection of Miramar Road and Harmony Lane northwest bound vehicles on Miramar Road shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

78.    At the intersection of Austin Road and Beulah Heights Road, southbound vehicles on Austin Road shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

79.    At the intersection of Beulah Lane Road and East Shore Road, westbound vehicles on Beulah Lane Road shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

80.    At the intersection of Spleas Skoney Road, Miramar Drive, and Walnut Street, vehicles traveling southeasterly on Spleas Skoney Road toward said intersection shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection; vehicles traveling northwesterly on Miramar Drive toward said intersection shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

81.    At the intersection of Spleas Skoney Road and Walnut Street, making it a three-way stop. Vehicles traveling toward said intersection from Spleas Skoney Road, Walnut Street and Miramar Drive are all required to stop before proceeding through this intersection.

82.    Two signs at the intersection of Plum Street and Walnut Street, making it a three-way stop.

83.    At the intersection of Elm Street and Miramar Drive. Traffic traveling south on Elm Street is required to stop before proceeding through this intersection.

84.    At the intersection of Hickory Street and Miramar Drive. Traffic traveling south on Hickory Street is required to stop before proceeding through this intersection.

85.    At the intersection of Elm Street and White Oak making it a four-way stop instead of the current two-way stop intersection.

86.    At the intersection of Hickory Street and Miramar Drive with the stop sign to be placed on Hickory Street.

87.    On Maple Street and Miramar Drive with the stop sign to be placed on Maple Street.

88.    At the intersection of Beach Road and East Shore Road, north and southbound vehicles on East Shore Road shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

89.    At the intersection of Miramar Road and Hickory Street, north and southbound vehicles on Hickory Street shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

90.    At the intersection of It’s a Little Road and Oakwood Lane.

91.    At the intersection of Wolf Way and County Trunk Highway “J.”

92.    At the intersection of Hidden Oaks and Beach Road.

93.    At the intersection of Hidden Oaks and Stewart School Road.

94.    At the intersection of White Oak Drive and Juniper Street vehicles on Juniper Street shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

95.    At the intersection of White Oak Drive and Cedar Street vehicles on Cedar Street shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

96.    At the intersection of White Oak Drive and Hickory Street vehicles shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

97.    At the intersection of White Oak Drive and Maple Street vehicles on Maple Street shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

98.    At the intersection of White Oak Drive and Ash Street vehicles on Ash Street shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

99.    At the intersection of White Oak Drive and Elm Street vehicles on Elm Street shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

100.    At the intersection of Miramar Drive and Ash Street vehicles shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

101.    At the intersection of Cedar Drive and Miramar Drive requiring that traffic in all directions stop at this three-way stop sign.

102.    At the intersection of Miramar Road and Eastwood Drive, vehicles shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

103.    At the intersection of Miramar Drive and Eastwood Drive, vehicles shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

104.    At the intersection of Greystone Circle and Stone School Road, vehicles shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

105.    At the intersection of Oak Hill Road and Highway 20, vehicles shall stop before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

10.15.020 Yield right-of-way streets designated.

In the interest of public safety and pursuant to the provisions of Wis. Stat. § 349.07 and other applicable statutory provision in such cases made and provided, the following streets and intersections are declared to be yield right-of-way streets and traffic signs or signals giving notice thereof shall be erected by the Town in accordance with Chapter 10.35 ETMC.

1.    At the intersection of East Shore Road and Army Lake Road eastbound vehicles on East Shore Road shall yield the right-of-way to all vehicles approaching the intersection before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

2.    At the intersection of Beulah Park Road and East Shore Road northbound and southbound vehicles on Beulah Park Road shall yield the right-of-way to all vehicles approaching the intersection before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

3.    At the intersection of Beulah Lane Road and East Shore Road westbound vehicles on Beulah Lane Road shall yield the right-of-way to all vehicles approaching the intersection before entering upon or crossing the intersection.

4.    At the intersection of Colbo Road and Hamms Road westbound vehicles on Colbo Road shall yield the right-of-way to all vehicles approaching the intersection before entering upon or crossing the intersection. (2008 code § 6.03(2))

10.15.030 Making stops.

For the purposes of this chapter all stops shall be made by vehicles immediately prior to entering the crosswalk closest to the intersection being approached and located between the vehicle and the intersection. Where there are not marked crosswalks but sidewalks exist then all stops shall be made before crossing the extended edge of the sidewalk furthest from the intersection being approached. In the event there are neither marked crosswalks nor sidewalks then all stops shall be made with the front of the vehicle located approximately at a line extended from the stop sign and perpendicular thereto into the street being traveled by the vehicle. 10.15.040 Duration of stop.

All vehicles coming to a stop pursuant to the provisions hereinabove set forth shall remain stopped until such time as:

1.    In the case of a four-way stop all vehicles which have previously arrived or stopped at the intersection have proceeded through the intersection.

2.    At any intersection where less than four directions are, but at least one direction is, controlled by a stop sign or signal, all vehicles that have previously arrived or stopped at the intersection have proceeded through the intersection, and there are not vehicles proceeding in a direction not required to stop so close to the intersection as to constitute an immediate hazard.
