17.42.010 Intent.

The A (airport) district is intended to include aviation lands and areas directly adjacent to the airport which, because of their proximity to the airport, are directly influenced by aviation-related uses. Principal land uses within these areas should be aviation-related or of a character that does not conflict with the safe and efficient operation of the airport. 17.42.020 Permitted principal uses and structures.

In an A zone, the following uses and structures are permitted outright:

A.    Air freight warehouses, offices;

B.    Air taxi operations;

C.    Aircraft maintenance and repair operations;

D.    Aircraft rental agencies, lots and hangars;

E.    Aircraft sales;

F.    Aircraft tiedown areas and hangars;

G.    Airline offices;

H.    Aviation electronics and radio sales and repair;

I.    Aviation petroleum products sales;

J.    Aviation product sales;

K.    Car rental agencies, lots and garages;

L.    Drinking and eating establishments (in airport terminal building);

M.    Flight schools;

N.    Gift shops and related tourist industries;

17.42.030 Permitted accessory uses and structures.

In an A zone, the following uses and structures, which are incidental to the permitted principal uses and structures listed in Section 17.42.020, are permitted:

A.    Accessory buildings;

B.    Automobile parking in conjunction with permitted or conditional uses;

C.    Aircraft parking in conjunction with permitted or conditional uses. (Ord. 16-04 § 9 (part): Ord. 03-15 § 19 (part): prior code § 30-27(c))

17.42.040 Conditional uses.

In an A zone, subject to the conditional use provisions of this chapter, the following uses and structures may be permitted:

A.    Automobile service stations;

B.    Drinking and eating establishments (outside the airport terminal building);

C.    Hotels;

D.    Offices (commercial) which are in character with the general use of the airport district, including federal, state, municipal and public agencies. (Ord. 16-04 § 9 (part): Ord. 03-15 § 19 (part): prior code § 30-27(d))

17.42.050 Prohibited uses and structures.

A.    Any uses or structures not of a character indicated under permitted principal uses and structures or permitted as a conditional use are prohibited.

B.    Any use or structure that infringes or extends into the airport imaginary surfaces as set forth in Part 77 of the Federal Aviation Regulations, as amended.

C.    Any installation or object which would create electrical interference with radio communication between the airport and aircraft, or make it difficult for pilots to distinguish between airport lights and other lights, result in a glare in the eyes of pilots using the airport, impair visibility in the vicinity of the airport or otherwise endanger the landing, taking off or maneuvering of aircraft. 17.42.060 Minimum lot requirements.

A.    Lot width: none.

17.42.070 Minimum setback requirements.

Front yard, side yard and rear yard subject to building code regarding fire walls and separation of buildings. (Ord. 16-04 § 9 (part): Ord. 03-15 § 19 (part): prior code § 30-27(g))

17.42.080 Maximum lot coverage by all buildings and structures.

17.42.090 Maximum height of buildings and structures.

Principal buildings and structures shall not exceed thirty-five feet in height, except as otherwise provided in this title. (Ord. 16-04 § 9 (part): Ord. 03-15 § 19 (part): prior code § 30-27(i))

17.42.100 Required off-street parking and loading.

Adequate off-street parking and loading spaces shall be provided in conjunction with any permitted use in accordance with the requirements set forth in Sections 17.48.100 and 17.48.110. (Ord. 16-04 § 9 (part): Ord. 03-15 § 19 (part): prior code § 30-27(j))

17.42.110 Signs.
