10.04.010 Bear Valley Roads.

The board of supervisors does hereby determine and declare that the speed limit most appropriate to facilitate safe and orderly movement of traffic on roads in the Bear Valley area is as follows:

A. Bear Valley Road No. 186, from State Highway No. 4 northerly to Engineer’s Station, 18 + 100 is fifteen miles per hour,

B. Creekside Drive No. 202, from Bear Valley Road No. 186 to Engineer’s Station, 15 + 25 is fifteen miles per hour;

C. Eberhardt Circle No. 215, from Bear Valley Road No. 186 to end is fifteen miles per hour,

D. All those areas known as the South Parking Lot, North Parking Lot and No Name Road, as shown on the map attached to the ordinance codified in this chapter, is fifteen miles per hour,

E. On Bear Valley Road from the State Highway Engineer’s Station 0 + 00 to the intersection with Bloods Ridge Road Engineer’s Station 51 + 66.28 is twenty-five miles per hour. (Ord. 525 §2, 1991)

10.04.020 Hot Springs Road.

The board of supervisors does hereby determine and declare that the speed limit most appropriate to facilitate safe and orderly movement of traffic on Hot Springs Road:

A. From Engineer’s Station 190 + 74.50 to Engineer’s Station 170 + 00 is twenty-five miles per hour, and

B. From Engineer’s Station 170 + 00 to Engineer’s Station 1 + 50 is thirty-five miles per hour. (Ord. 525 §3, 1991)

10.04.030 Diamond Valley Road.

The board of supervisors does hereby determine and declare that the speed limit most appropriate to facilitate orderly movement of traffic on Diamond Valley Road No. 3:

A. From State Highway 89, Engineer’s Station 0 + 50 to Engineer’s Station 33 + 00 is twenty-five miles per hour, and

B. From Engineer’s Station 33 + 00 to Engineer’s Station 62 + 00 is forty miles per hour. (Ord. 525 §4, 1991)

10.04.040 Blue Lakes Road.

The board of supervisors does hereby determine and declare that the speed limit most appropriate to facilitate orderly movement of traffic on that portion of Blue Lakes Road from the south end of Lower Blue Lake near the dam to the north end of Upper Blue Lake at the turnoff to the Upper Blue Lakes Campground is five miles per hour. (Ord. 525 §5, 1991)

10.04.050 Foothill Road.

The board of supervisors does hereby determine and declare that the speed limit most appropriate to facilitate orderly movement of traffic on Foothill Road from its intersection with Highway 88 at Paynsville to 0.1 miles north of its intersection with Emigrant Trail Road is thirty-five miles per hour, thence northerly to the stateline of Nevada is forty-five miles per hour. 10.04.060 Signing authorization.

The county road commissioner is authorized and directed to place and maintain such traffic signs or signals as may be necessary and appropriate to indicate and carry out the provisions of this chapter. (Ord. 525 §7, 1991)

10.04.070 Safe operation of vehicle.

It is unlawful for any person to operate a vehicle on said roads at a speed greater than is reasonable and prudent having due regard for weather, visibility, traffic on, and the surface, width and condition of the roadways, and in no event in excess of the above specified speed limits. (Ord. 525 §8, 1991)

10.04.080 Penalties.

Violations of any part of this ordinance is an infraction and shall be punishable by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars. (Ord. 525 §9, 1991)
