WINTER ROAD USE RESTRICTIONS

10.08.040    Violation—Penalty;

10.08.010 Roads and applicable restrictions designated.

A. The driving, standing, parking or operating of any motor vehicle other than motor vehicles designed and constructed for use over or on top of snow is prohibited on the following described road in the county:

1. Alpine Mine Road;

2. Blue Lakes Road;

3. Burnside Road;

4. Those roads located in that portion of County Service Area No. 1 designated by the map marked “Exhibit 10.08.010.”

B. No person will drive any vehicle on any packed and groomed roadway specified above in such a manner as to damage the roadway in such a way as to make the roadway dangerous, unsafe or impassable for others. (Ord. 502 § 1, 1989: Ord. 483 § 1, 1988)

10.08.020 Closure and barricades authorized when.

The road closure shall be in effect during such times as determined appropriate by the county director of. transportation for winter closure. Barricades or appropriately marked signs shall be placed at points determined by the director of transportation, and all specified portions of such roads behind such barricades or signs shall be closed to such vehicles as are indicated in this chapter. 10.08.030 Exceptions to chapter provisions.

The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to emergency vehicles and such vehicles as may be authorized by the director of transportation for snow removal and the grooming and packing of certain of the said roads for over-the snow vehicles and for other purposes as he may deem appropriate. 10.08.040 Violation—Penalty.

Any person violating the provisions of this chapter. shall be guilty of a misdemeanor/infraction, and upon conviction(s) thereof shall be punished by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars, or imprisonment in the County Jail for a period not exceeding six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
