2.12.010 Duty to aid persons in distress.

In addition to the performance of the regular and ordinary duties, it shall be the duty of all policemen and firemen at all times, and under all circumstances, to go to the aid of all persons in distress or danger and render them such help and assistance as lies within their power. (Prior code § 4011)

2.12.020 Workmen’s compensation.

In case any policeman or fireman should be injured while rendering such additional services as mentioned in Section 2.12.010, he shall be deemed to be injured in the course of his employment and shall be entitled to workmen’s compensation therefor, as provided by law. (Prior code § 4012)

2.12.060 Chief—Authority to establish fire lines.

It shall be the duty of the fire chief to establish fire lines during any serious fire when in his judgment it becomes necessary or advisable and to prohibit anyone from going within such fire lines except as authorized by some member of the fire or police departments. (Prior code § 4131)
