POLICEMEN’S DUTY TO AID

2.24.010 Duty to aid persons in distress.

In addition to the performance of the regular and ordinary duties, it shall be the duty of all policemen and firemen at all times, and under all circumstances, to go to the aid of all persons in distress or danger and render them such help and assistance as lies within their power. (Prior code § 4011)

2.24.020 Workmen’s compensation.

In case any policeman or fireman should be injured while rendering any additional services as aforesaid in Section 2.24.010, he shall be deemed to be injured in the course of his employment and shall be entitled to workmen’s compensation therefor, as provided by law. (Prior code § 4012)
