10.04.010 Definitions generally.

In this title the following terms (except as otherwise specifically indicated) shall have and include each of the meanings respectively set forth in this chapter. (Prior code § 6100)

10.04.020 Animal.

“Animal” means every horse, pony, donkey, mule, burro or other animal capable of being ridden or driven or capable of being guided by reins or voice. (Prior code § 6100.1)

10.04.030 Curb.

“Curb” means the lateral boundaries of a street, whether marked by curbing constructed of stone, cement or other material or not so marked. (Prior code § 6100.2)

10.04.040 Drive.

“Drive” means to ride, drive, propel or operate. (Prior code § 6100.3)

10.04.050 Driver.

“Driver” means every rider or driver of an animal, the rider of a bicycle or tricycle, the operator of a motorcycle, automobile or motor truck, the person in charge of any animal, bicycle, tricycle, motorcycle or pushcart. (Prior code § 6100.31)

10.04.060 Fixture.

“Fixture” means every vehicle other than a trailer or semitrailer which is attached to or coupled to another vehicle. (Prior code § 6100.4)

10.04.070 Semitrailer.

“Semitrailer” means every vehicle of the trailer type so designed and used in conjunction with a motor vehicle that some part of its own weight and of its own load rests upon or is carried by another vehicle. (Prior code § 6100.5)

10.04.080 Trailer.

“Trailer” means every vehicle without motive power designated for carrying property or passengers wholly on its own structure and for being drawn by a motor vehicle. (Prior code § 6100.6)

10.04.090 Vehicle.

“Vehicle” means every wagon, hack, coach, carriage, omnibus, bicycle, tricycle, automobile, motor truck, motorcycle or other conveyance (except baby carriages, railroad, street, and interurban railway cars) in whatever manner or by whatever force or power the same may be ridden, driven, or propelled, which is or may be used for or adopted to pleasure riding, traveling or the transportation of passengers, baggage, merchandise or freight, upon any street, and every draft or riding animal whether ridden or led, or standing still except that an animal or animals while attached to any vehicle shall with such vehicle constitute one vehicle.
