OBEDIENCE TO TRAFFIC REGULATION

10.08.010 Obedience to peace officers.

All drivers of vehicles and all persons in charge of or operating any railroad car, or train or railroad cars must at all times comply promptly with any direction given by the whistle, voice or hand of any peace officer as to stopping, starting, approaching or departing from any place in any street. (Prior code § 6111)

10.08.020 Failure to obey order.

It is unlawful for any such person driving or having charge of such vehicle, railroad car or train or railroad cars to fail, refuse or neglect to promptly obey the order of any peace officer in regard to the moving or stopping of any such vehicle or railroad car or train of cars in, upon, along or across any street. (Prior code § 6112)

10.08.030 Remaining stopped pending order.

It is unlawful for the driver of any vehicle which has stopped in obedience to a signal given by the chief of police or other peace officer to start such vehicle until such driver has received a signal from such officer to proceed. (Prior code § 6113)

10.08.040 Owner’s duty to move vehicle.

When any vehicle standing along or near the curb in any street interferes with or obstructs any work to be done upon said street, or may prove a nuisance or annoyance to the public, the owner or operator of such vehicle must remove same at the request of any officer of the street department. (Prior code § 6114)

10.08.050 Failure to move vehicle when ordered.

It is unlawful for the driver of any vehicle standing along or near the curb in any street to fail, refuse or neglect to move such vehicle away from such curb when requested to do so by the chief of police or any peace officer. (Prior code § 6115)
