TRUCK ROUTES

10.12.010 Designated.

The following streets are designated as truck routes in the city:

A. Fourth Street from Highway 115 to Chestnut Avenue;

B. Fifth Street from Melon Avenue to the east city limit;

C. Sixth Street from the west city limit to Holt Avenue;

D. Tenth Street from Holt Avenue to Fern Avenue;

E. Tenth Street from Orange Avenue to Figueroa Avenue;

F. Highway 115 from the west city limit to the east city limit;

G. Melon Avenue from Fifth Street to Sixth Street;

H. Olive Avenue from Fourth Street to Sixth Street;

I. Palm Avenue from Fourth Street to Sixth Street;

J. Cedar Avenue from south city limit to Sixth Street;

K. Pine Avenue from Fourth Street to Fifth Street (truck traffic limited to southbound only);

L. Holt Avenue from Fourth Street to the north city limit;

M. Fern Avenue from Third Street to Fifth Street;

N. Orange Avenue from Fourth Street to Fifth Street;

O. Walnut Avenue from south city limit to Fifth Street;

P. Maple Avenue from Fourth Street to Fifth Street;

Q. Chestnut Avenue from Fourth Street to Fifth Street. (Ord. 423, 1994; Ord. 405, 1989; Ord. 279 § 1, 1963).

10.12.020 Trucks in excess of 10,000 pounds not allowed to use other than designated streets.

On all other streets and avenues in the city no vehicle shall be allowed having a gross weight in excess of 10,000 pounds, except recreational vehicles (as defined in Section 18010, Health and Safety Code). (Ord. 423, 1994; Ord. 279 § 2, 1963).

10.12.030 Exceptions to HMC 10.12.020.

The provisions of HMC 10.12.020 shall not apply to vehicles exceeding 10,000 pounds in gross weight when necessary to traverse another street, or streets, to a destination for the purpose of pick up and delivery, but then only by such deviation from said truck route as is reasonably necessary, nor to passenger buses under the jurisdiction of the public utilities commission. 10.12.040 Violation – Penalty.

Any and every violation of the provisions of this chapter is an infraction and upon conviction thereof shall be punished as provided by Government Code Section 36900. (Ord. 397, 1988; Ord. 340 § 3, 1973; Ord. 279 § 4, 1963).
