15.35.010 Adoption of the Uniform Housing Code.

“The Uniform Housing Code, 1994 Edition” is hereby adopted by reference as the Housing Code of the City of Gardner, Kansas, and three copies, marked and showing portions that are amended and to which shall be attached a copy of amendments, shall be filed with the City Clerk and shall be open to inspection and available to the public at reasonable business hours. Official copies of such code shall be supplied at the cost of the City to the officials and agencies in the manner listed and set forth in K.S.A. 12-3010. Subsequent references to the “Housing Code” shall mean “The Uniform Housing Code, 1994 Edition.” (Ord. 2257 § 10; Ord. 1909 § 7. Code 1990 § 4-901)

15.35.020 Amendments to the Code.

The “Housing Code” as adopted by GMC 15.35.010 is hereby amended and changed to read as follows:

A. Section 203 amended to read:

(a) The Housing Advisory and the Appeals Board shall be the same board for the Building Code.

B. Section 901 amended to add the following paragraph to the existing paragraph:

Smoke detectors are required to be checked for proper operation, by the owner of the property, a minimum of once a year. Records of this check shall be maintained by the property owner.
