GENERAL PENALTY

1.08.010 Prohibited act declared misdemeanor.

Whenever the performance of any act or the failure to perform a required act is prohibited by any ordinance or law of Humboldt County, and no penalty for the violation of such ordinance is imposed, the committing of such act shall be a misdemeanor. (Ord. 1-20-69 § 1(101.010))

1.08.020 Punishment for misdemeanors.

Every person convicted of a misdemeanor shall be punished by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than six months, or by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars, or by both fine and imprisonment, unless the applicable provision of the ordinance in force at the time of commission of such misdemeanor prescribes a different penalty. 1.08.030 Performing community work in lieu of fine or imprisonment.

In lieu of all or part of the punishment which may be imposed pursuant to HCC 1.08.020, if the convicted person agrees, he may be sentenced to perform a fixed period of work for the benefit of the community under the conditions prescribed in NRS 176.087.
