5.09.010 Purpose.

The purpose of this chapter is to provide a means for individuals to drive commercial trucks onto residential streets on a routine basis for business. [Ord. 948 § 3, 2016.]

5.09.020 Definitions.

“Commercial truck” means a commercial motor vehicle as defined in ORS 801.208.

“Residential street” means a public street adjoining land zoned residential, and not a designated truck route as specified in HMC 10.05.160(1)(c). [Ord. 948 § 3, 2016.]

5.09.030 License requirement, application, issuance, inspection, and revocation.

In addition to the requirements of Chapter 5.05 HMC, an application for a commercial truck permit shall meet all of the criteria in HMC 5.09.040. [Ord. 948 § 3, 2016.]

5.09.040 Review criteria.

A commercial truck permit shall comply with the following:

1. No more than one commercial truck shall be allowed on a residential property.

2. A commercial truck shall not be parked overnight on a public street.

3. No repairs or maintenance can be performed on a commercial truck on the residential property or the public street.

4. A paved parking area shall be provided for the commercial truck. [Ord. 948 § 3, 2016.]

5.09.050 Submission requirements.

In addition to the requirements in HMC 5.05.070, an application for a commercial truck permit shall include:

1. The designated route(s) of travel to and from a designated truck route to the residence where the truck will be kept.

2. The anticipated days of the week and times of day the truck will be traveling on nondesignated truck route streets.

3. A diagram showing the location of the proposed parking for the commercial truck. [Ord. 948 § 3, 2016.]
