CITY MANAGER

2.82.010 City manager.

A.    The city manager shall be a full-time exempt position who shall exercise supervision over the administrative affairs of the city and over all other appointed officers.

B.    The city manager shall exercise the authority and shall perform all duties as prescribed by RCW 35A.13.080 or other such duties as may be required or authorized by statute, resolution or ordinance.

C.    The city manager shall have the authority to adopt administrative policies and procedures for the effective and efficient use of resources to serve the public.

D.    The city manager shall have the authority to manage the daily operations of the city, oversee and manage the budget as adopted by city council, and the ability to delegate to department heads the responsibility for managing their department budgets in accordance with sound management principles and within budgeted authority.

E.    The city manager shall have the authority to enter into contracts on behalf of the city as provided for in the administrative purchasing policy.

F.    The city manager shall additionally have the authority to perform any other such duties as the council may delegate by ordinance or resolution. (Ord. 19-15 § 5, 2019: Ord. 14-07 § 2 (part), 2014)
