16.50.010 Vehicles with a gross license weight of 10,000 pounds or more prohibited – Exceptions.

All through travel by motor trucks, with or without trailers, having a gross license weight of 10,000 pounds or more is prohibited on any and all streets or alleys within the city with the exception of Orchard Street, 19th Street West (Columbia) and 67th Avenue West. (Ord. 1224 § 1, 1999; Ord. 1222 § 1, 1999; Ord. 691 § 1, 1976).

16.50.020 Over 10,000 pounds permitted when.

Trucks of the size designated in FMC 16.50.010 desiring to load or unload within the city shall be permitted to travel on Fircrest streets to their destination or from their point of origin, provided they restrict travel upon any city streets to the minimum, and use arterials wherever possible. (Ord. 691 § 2, 1976).

16.50.030 Signposting.

The chief of police shall post such signs as are appropriate, giving notice that through truck traffic is prohibited on all streets in Fircrest except as indicated in FMC 16.50.010 and 16.50.020. (Ord. 691 § 3, 1976).

16.50.040 Origin, destination, and weight determination authorized.

Any Fircrest police officer shall have the authority to stop any truck to determine its point of origin and destination and its weight by causing the same to be driven to a public or private scale to be weighed. (Ord. 691 § 4, 1976).

16.50.050 Violation – Penalty.

Every violation of this chapter is a traffic infraction punishable by a fine in the amount of $352.00. (Ord. 1284 § 1, 2001; Ord. 1222 § 2, 1999; Ord. 987 § 39, 1991; Ord. 834 § 39, 1986; Ord. 691 § 5, 1976).
