2.72.010 City membership declared.

The city is declared to be a member of the Skagit County air pollution control district in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 70.94 RCW. (Ord. 1519 § 1, 1966).

2.72.020 Aims, functions and procedures declared.

The aims, functions and procedures of the city, as a participating member of the district, are declared to be those outlined in Chapter 70.94 RCW. (Ord. 1519 § 2, 1966).

2.72.030 Areas included.

The Skagit County air pollution control district shall include, but not be limited to Skagit County, and to include Burlington, Mount Vernon, Sedro Woolley, Anacortes, Concrete, LaConner, Lyman, Hamilton and Skagit County. (Ord. 1519 § 3, 1966).

2.72.040 Commencement and continuation of district.

The district shall begin to transact business and to exercise its powers on October 18, 1966, with its principal place of business to be the Skagit County Court House at Mount Vernon. Said place of business may be changed to such other place or places as the district board of directors may from time to time agree upon by majority vote. The district shall continue in active operation for such period of time as the board of directors of the district find necessary to conduct research and studies; or to establish or enforce controls over air pollution; or until the district is dissolved in accordance with RCW 70.94.260. (Ord. 1519 § 4, 1966).

2.72.050 Funds to be budgeted by city.

Commencing with the budget for 1967, the city of Mount Vernon shall include in each annual budget thereafter, a sum not to exceed $0.10 per capita of the residents of the city. (Ord. 1519 § 5, 1966).

2.72.060 Powers and duties – Rule and regulation enforcement.

The Skagit County air pollution control district shall have all of the powers and duties provided in Chapter 70.94 RCW, and all resolutions and valid rules and regulations of the district hereafter promulgated pertaining to the control or prevention of air pollution shall be strictly enforced within the city to the extent provided by law. (Ord. 1519 § 6, 1966).

2.72.070 Copies of provisions filed where.

A certified copy of the ordinance codified herein shall be filed with the Secretary of State of the state of Washington, and a copy filed with the Skagit County auditor, Skagit County treasurer, and with each of the participating towns and cities. (Ord. 1519 § 7, 1966).
