ELECTION OF CITY OFFICIALS1

2.40.010 Declaration of candidacy.

Names of candidates for elective city offices shall appear on the ballot as a result of such candidates filing declarations of candi­dacy for the respective offices and positions. Declarations of candidacy shall be in the form, place, and manner as provided in the applica­ble statutes of the state of Washington (RCW Title 29) as it now exists or as it may be amended. (Ord. 350 § 1, 1971).

2.40.020 Filing fee.

Repealed by Ord. 1237. (Ord. 350 § 2, 1971).

2.40.030 Withdrawal of candidacy.

Any candidate may withdraw his candi­dacy by filing his withdrawal of candidacy with the city clerk, in writing, pursuant to the requirements of RCW Title 29. (Ord. 350 § 3, 1971).

2.40.040 Notice of elective positions open.

The city clerk shall publish a notice in one issue of the official newspaper of the city, not less than three (3) nor more than ten (10) days prior to the commencement of the filing period, which notice shall advise all interested persons of the elective positions that are open for filing for the next ensuing city election, the term thereof, the salary therefor, and the requirements for filing candidacy. (Ord. 350 § 4, 1971).

2.40.050 Conformity to state laws.

General, special, and city elections shall be governed and conducted by and in accordance with the general election laws of the state of Washington as the same are applicable to the city. (Ord. 350 § 5, 1971).
