GENERAL PROVISIONS

16.04.010 Short title.
This title shall be known as the “subdivision ordinance” of the city. (Ord. 67 § 2, 1972)
16.04.020 Purpose.
The purpose of this title is to regulate the subdivision of land and to promote the public health, safety and general welfare in accordance with standards set forth herein to prevent the overcrowding of land; to lessen congestion in streets and highways; to provide suitable ingress and egress; to provide adequate space, light and air; to assure adequate provisions for water and sewerage facilities, fire protection, public streets and ways; and to require uniform monumentation of land subdivisions and conveyancing by accurate legal description.
